“Pigment is showing what's possible when AI becomes a partner in strategic planning. As both a technology partner and a Pigment customer, we're seeing firsthand how their approach of connecting planning data directly to Claude through their MCP Server lets teams focus on strategic decisions rather than data wrangling.”

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Frame?

A Frame is a custom interface inside a Pigment application, generated from a description. It can look and work however you need — dashboard, form, visualization, or full business app — and it reads and writes your live Pigment data in real time, within your existing access rights.

Do I need to know how to code or design?

No. You describe what you want and the Modeler Agent generates and deploys it. You can also build from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor via the Pigment MCP Server — the Frame still lands inside Pigment, governed, not as a file on someone's laptop.

How is this different from building an app in an AI tool?

Those tools generate an interface on an extract of your data. A Frame runs on your live model: it writes back, it inherits your access rights on every field, you can share to other users, their user rights will apply, it recalculates through your formulas, and it's covered by the same audit trail as the rest of your application. Nothing is exported and nothing leaves your environment.

Who can create a Frame, and who can see it?

Only users with the Configure Blocks permission can create or edit Frames. A new or updated Frame is visible only to its author until it's published.

Do Frames replace Boards?

No. Boards remain the reference for data-intensive exploration and high-performance analysis. Frames cover bespoke experiences, forms, custom visualizations, presentation-grade views. Most applications use both.

Is my data secure?

Frames run inside Pigment's security perimeter. Every read and write is scoped by your access rights, data is never exported, and Pigment is ISO 27001 certified and SOC 1 & SOC 2 Type 2 audited.
