“The goal was to create a common space… where everyone speaks the same language and works with the same numbers.”
FM Logistic is a supply chain giant with more than 28,000 employees and operations across 13 countries. As you can imagine, such a complex operation demands a lot from financial planning teams.
Before Pigment, planning processes at FM Logistic largely relied on Excel files, email exchanges, and multiple versions - making collaboration difficult and time-consuming. Only the final result was input to Oracle, Group EPM.
Budget cycles could stretch over several months, to the point where data was already outdated by the time it was validated. In a context where speed of decision-making is critical, this lack of agility limited the company’s ability to anticipate and effectively steer performance.
The company set out to find a platform that could bring teams together around a shared language—connecting finance, operations, and HR in one environment.
Pigment stood out for its flexibility, intuitive interface, and ability to be used directly by business teams without relying on IT. While their legacy system remained strong for reporting, Pigment enabled a shift toward more dynamic, collaborative, and forward-looking planning.
FM Logistic began by reimagining forecasting processes in Pigment, starting from the short term forecast to project the end of the month. Within just a few months, an MVP for month-end forecasting was built and deployed.
Pigment enables a clearer distribution of roles between finance and operations, empowering operational teams to contribute directly to key forecasts such as revenue and production costs.
Since launch, adoption of the tool has significantly expanded from around 100 users to over 400, with strong engagement from operational teams. These users now have direct access to data, eliminating their reliance on finance for information.
This shift has created a shared, single source of truth and is making real-time collaboration possible across the organization.
FM Logistic continues to expand its use of Pigment, with the ambition of making it the central performance management platform for the group.
Next steps include long term forecasting with ambition to implement a quarterly rolling forecast, broader system integrations (billing, WMS, TMS, HRIS), and increased automation to reduce manual work and improve efficiency.
Looking ahead, FM Logistic also plans to leverage Pigment’s AI capabilities to accelerate model building and enhance team autonomy.
With Pigment, FM Logistic is building a faster, more collaborative, and future-ready planning approach - fit for the complexity of modern logistics.
